Web and backoffice redesign for accounting platform
Gesfiser had been managing accounting for freelancers and companies in Bizkaia for years using in-person processes and paper documentation. The digital leap meant more than just moving forms to a screen: it required convincing less tech-savvy users that a web platform could replace their trusted accountant, doing so flawlessly within a regulatory context that changed midway through the project.
The emergence of TicketBAI—the new tax obligation of the Basque Foral Treasury—forced the redesign of already closed flows, adding validation states to invoice tables, and creating a visual language that conveyed regulatory compliance without alarming the end-user. Designing for real-time legislation is another level of complexity.
Roles
Three fronts, three tailored solutions.
The work was structured across three simultaneous fronts.
First, simplifying onboarding into three steps with minimal distraction during the initial registration: payment details were moved to a modal that appears after 15 days of use, removing the barrier to entry without compromising the business model.
Second, structuring the back office with clear hierarchy: invoice, client, and provider tables with functional filters, and integrating the TicketBAI status column with explanatory tooltips so users could understand errors before calling support.
Third, building the visual system on Manrope and an already resolved corporate palette, laying it out on WordPress + GeneratePress with custom CSS, and additionally delivering SVG mockups for social media and corporate web communication.
The new UX reduced bottlenecks from day one.
The onboarding redesign reduced the average registration time and activated a cleaner conversion flow by separating subscription from sign-up. The visual TicketBAI certification became a commercial selling point against competitors who took months longer to adapt.
